The Division of Mathematics welcomes assistant professor Lino Amorim. Lino got his Ph.D. in Arithmetic from the University of Wisconsin and then was hired as a postdoc on the College of Oxford and at Boston College. His research space is Symplectic Geometry. “Most of my analysis revolves across the interactions between the geometric (Kuranishi spaces) and algebraic buildings (A-infinity classes) that serve as foundations for the speculation of Fukaya categories”, Amorim says. “I’m additionally fascinated with applications of those to different areas reminiscent of Mirror Symmetry and Hamiltonian Dynamics.” More not too long ago, professor Amorim started engaged on Derived Algebraic Geometry and its applications to the research of holomorphic symplectic manifolds.
